As I get older, I am slowly learning the difference between 'being independent' and 'being alone.'
I thought I was one, but am coming to realize that I am actually the other.

Not meaning to offend, but you could try getting back to the people that love you and contact you with some frequency. We really are interested in what's going on in your life.

ReplyDeleteAt any rate, I'm in total agreement with you, and I am in the same boat. Well, not the same boat, obviously, or neither of us would be ostracized and estranged.
Being independent is great. Sometimes being alone is just what you need at certain times in life. Always know that our home is open and welcoming whenever you feel like being a bit dependent and want to shelve that whole "alone" thing for a while...
